How He Dies ?
After Lord Krishna left his human body, Arjuna became empty and lost all his powers due to his energy owing to Lord Krishna. Arjuna was defeated by robbers in a way. Later on when the Kaliyuga began, Vyasa advised the pandavas to retire from the kingdom and lead to Himalayas as pilgrimage. They left their kingdom in the hands of Parikshit, grandson of Arjuna.
All the panadvas along with draupadi and a dog started their journey. They grew weak and died before reaching the heaven except Yudhishthira. Arjuna was the fourth one to die after draupadi, sahadeva and nakula. Bhima asked Yudhishthira anout why Arjuna being the strongest was not able to reach heaven, the reason came out was his extreme pride as an archer.
Even Draupadi died because she claimed of loving all five brothers equally but having a soft corner for Arjuna. Sahadeva died because of his pride of knowledge, Nakula because of his arrogant nature and pride of look and Bhima because of his excessive eating habits. Only Yudhishthira reached the door of heaven with his dog representing Dharma. He saw Duryodhana and his brothers and asked the God of death about his wife and brothers. The lord of death replied that they are in hell and Kauravas are in heaven because they died as warriors.
Yudhishthira choose hell with his brothers and wife than a heaven with his enemies. Thus, the event turned out to be a test him. Further, he met his family and lived in heaven.
