Good or bad? Ki and Ka: Movie Review in Short!
Starring
Kareena Kapoor Khan and Arjun Kapoor, and directed by R Balki, the movie Ki and
Ka is a breeze of fresh air. The concept of role reversal in relationships is
captivating enough. The movie is a fresh take on the Indian institution of
marriage and gender roles.
Arjun
Kapoor showed us in-depth emotions of a sensitive man while Kareena Kapoor Khan
managed to weave her character sketch exceptionally well. Guest appearance made
by Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan was the cherry on the cake. Furthermore, Kia's
mother and Kabir's father also gave us some interesting scenes.
Kabir
is a sensitive, artistic man married to Kia who is ambitious, independent and
workaholic woman. Despite the fact that Kabir wants to be house-husband, he
became popular in Kia’s friend circle as a gender equality ideal, he is an
understanding and forgiving partner in the marriage. Kia on the other side is
short-tempered, cranky and jealous. R Balki did manage to make a movie asking
the right questions and let the audience wonder and open up their viewpoints.
The plot of the film is set as fast-paced. Giving enough insights into the emotions and
situations, the story moved on from one scene to another smoothly. The premise
is interesting and I would give it a 4 out of 5 ratings. The overall impression
of the film is a mixed package of something audience could look forward too.
